Sumter County Fire & Rescue receives new rescue truck

AMERICUS — The Sumter County Fire and Rescue recently took delivery of a new 2015 light duty rescue truck. This truck is part of the apparatus replacement program that the Sumter County Fire and Rescue is conducting this year.
The rescue carries a wide range of rescue equipment including auto extrication tools, air bags for lifting, vehicle struts for stabilization, ventilation saws, chain saw, rope rescue equipment, Rapid Intervention Team tools, decontamination kit, thermal imaging camera and much more equipment for different types of rescues and technical rescue operations.
This truck was manufactured and built by Custom Truck and Body Works in Woodbury. The truck comes with a lifetime warranty on the body. Also, the truck was on display recently at the Georgia Fire Chiefs and Firefighters Conference at Jekyll Island.
