Electrical Lineworker Program offered at Americus-Sumter High School

AMERICUS — South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) announces that the Electrical Lineworker Program is being offered for the first time on the campus of Americus-Sumter High School. This is part of the New Move on When Ready Dual Enrollment program. Move On When Ready provides the opportunity for high school students to enroll part-time or full-time to earn both high school and college credits. There are 13 students currently enrolled in this two semester course.
The Electrical Lineworker certificate program provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to gain employment as an entry-level lineworker with electrical utility companies, both public and private. Topics include lineworker organization principles, lineworker workplace skills, lineworker automations skills and lineworker occupational skills. Upon completion, the high school students will earn a Technical Certificate of Credit. SGTC instructors for the courses are Sandra Royal and Larry Trussell.
