SGTC Board of Directors honors Sparky Reeves

AMERICUS — Members of the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) board of directors expressed their appreciation, and honored retiring President Sparky Reeves with a special gift at the September board  meeting recently. He will officially retire Sept. 30.
Willie Patrick, chairman of the SGTC board, welcomed everyone to the September meeting and then asked for a few minutes to recognize Reeves for his impact on SGTC over the last 11 years while he served as president and for his service to the college in other roles for the last 42 years.
“On behalf of the South Georgia Technical College Board of Directors, I would like to thank President Reeves for his service to South Georgia Technical College,” said Patrick as he presented Reeves with a pewter tray that had “Every Day is Special” engraved with Reeves’ name and the date in the center. Then Patrick asked each member of the SGTC board and the college senior staff officials to sign their names on the tray with a special engraving pen.
“Sparky has been an important part of this college and has helped guide and direct it to where it is today. It is my pleasure to present this special gift to him on behalf of the board of directors,” added Patrick.
The members of the 20145-2016 SGTC board of directors includes Chairman Willie Patrick from Crisp County, Vice Chair Janet Siders from Sumter County, George Bryce of Sumter County, Jimmy Davis of Macon County, Jake Everett of Webster County, Jem Morris of Sumter County and Richard McCorkle of Marion County. All members of the board were present at the meeting.
