Dr. T.R. Shantha of Atlanta and Victoria Kay McLeod of Americus announce the engagement of their daughter, Erica Maya T. Shantha of Atlanta, to Neil Sanjiwan Tarabadkar of Macon, son of Dr. and Mrs. Sanjiwan Tarabadkar of Macon.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter ofthe late Mr. and Mrs. Ramaiah Totada of Devigere, India, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. McLeod of Americus. She is a 2004 graduate of Woodward Academy in College Park and graduated from the University of Georgia, Athens, in 2008, with a bachelor of science in biology and a doctor of medicine. She is presently a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Washington, Department of Dermatology, in Seattle, Wash.
The future groom is the grandson of Sakuntala Vasant Tarabadkar and the late Vasant Madhav Tarabadkar of Mumbai, India, and the late Keshav Ramchandra Dhawale and Malati Keshav Dhawale.
He is a 2004 graduate of Stratford Academy in Macon and a 2008 graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, with a bachelor of science in medical anthropology and a doctor of medicine. He is an Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Resident at the University of Washington, Seattle.
The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Oct. 2, 2015, at the St. Regis Hotel, Atlanta.
