WARNER ROBINS — Alma Louise Edwards Metts, 86, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Warner Robins. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Metts was born in Tennille, Ga. She was a member of the 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Warner Robins. Some of her fondest moments were working crossword puzzles and enjoying the Opry in Powersville. She was a longtime volunteer of the Powersville Opry and the editor of the handouts there. She spent many enjoyable times being the host of the Pioneer Park Museum in Andersonville, Ga.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Elizabeth (Steve) Clark of Macon; sons, Raymond “Ray” L. (Debbie) Edwards Jr. of Roberta, Bill Edwards of Savannah; sisters, Iris Edwards of Warner Robins, Carol Hayes of Hiwassee; sister-in-law Lois Edwards of Warner Robins; special friend Rich Register of Byron; eight grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Powersville Opry at 240 Powersville Road, Byron GA 31008.
