Ministerial Association holds Sell-Off Bazaar today
The Ministerial Association is having a Sell-Off Bazaar from their last sale about two weeks ago with special discounts of 25 percent  to 50 percent off all items.
This is held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. today, Oct. 24 at the old Greenfield building in Ellaville.
The Ministerial Association last event was a success. These items prices will benefit all shoppers.
This yearly bazaar is to raise money to help those that are in need in this area.
Schley County Health Department will provide flu shots during the bazaar. Insurance cards will be scanned and if your insurance company is not accepted, you will be charged $35 for the shot.
There are a lot of nice things for everybody. Everything is marked down. They have wood-working tools, furniture, clothes,  household items, Christmas decorations and much more.
Breakfast of biscuits and coffee will be served.
The Ministerial Association thanks all the members who attended and worked so hard to get the bazaar ready and worked at it. They also thank those that purchased items.

Flu shots are now available
Flu vaccinations are now available from about all Public Health Departments  in the 15 counties of West Central Health District.   The CDC recommends that all individuals be vaccinated against influenza as soon as possible since the antibodies that provide protection take about two weeks to develop in the body.
Our Schley County Health Department is ready and is encouraging everyone to take advantage of the flu shot and be vaccinated. They recommend that the flu shot for everyone from six months of age and older and especially people at risk for developing flu with complications.
The standard flu shot is $25 at the local health department. Also available is the high-dose flu shot which is $35. This vaccine is recommended for adults 65 and older, with compromised immune systems.
Many insurance companies cover this plan and are accepted. They are Amerigroup, Peach State, Wellcare  Medicaid and Medicare and any Medicare supplement plans.

Ginger Ortan receives special award at Miss ABAC pageant
Ginger Ortan of Ellaville and Schley County is a sophomore at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton. She is majoring in agriculture communications.
She has just received the  People’s Choice Award at the recent Miss ABAC pageant at the college in Tifton. She is the daughter of Bob and Laura Ortan of Schley County.
She was sponsored by  ABAC’s Agriculture Communications of Tomorrow.
Finalists in the Miss ABAC contest were first runner up Kaylee Ewing, accounting major; second runner up Pamela Ashton Lovett, agriculture communications major; third runner up Delani Israel, diversified agriculture major; and the fourth runner up Amanda Lynn Thomas, writing and communications major,
The Miss ABAC competition was sponsored by the ABAC Agriculture Business Club. A part of the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
