The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for portions of north and central Georgia until 7 p.m. today.

The following counties in the Americus area are affected: Sumter, Schley, Webster and Stewart.

One to two inches of rain are possible on top of the one to two inches that have already fallen. The debris already generated by fallen leaves and small tree limbs will result in clogged drains, raising concerns for flooding. Some trees and power lines could be downed by thunderstorms.
