Americus
Shipp Chapel Baptist Church
A gospel benefit concert along with Greater New Lebanon and Welcome Baptist Church for their musician, Freddie Mann Jr., is at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at Shipp Chapel, Ga. Highway 49 South. Several musicians will perform. The public and all surrounding churches are invited.

Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church
The following veterans were honored Nov. 8 during the morning worship service: the church pastor, the Rev. Curtis Frazier; the Rev. Robert Coleman, Tom Yearby, Paul Williamson, Darrell Ingram, Fran Ingram, Sherwood Butts, Belinda Carter, Moses Roberts, all U.S. Army; Annie S. Witcher, U.S. Air Force; McArthur Whitehead, U.S. Marines; Milton Raven, U.S. Navy. Each veteran was pinned with a ribbon by Janice Harris and Tracy Ellis and a poem honoring all veterans was read by Nakesha Ingram. Each veteran was presented a gift. Refreshments were served afterwards in the fellowship hall which was decorated in red, white and blue.

Perry Grove Baptist Church
Perry Grove, New Zion and Friendship Baptist (DeSoto) churches combine for a community dinner at noon Nov. 24 for all area residents. The New Zion pastor delivers the message.

Perry B. Grove Baptist Church
Speaker for the 11 a.m. Nov. 22 worship service is Apostle Danny K. Smith of Bethel Word Ministry, Cordele. Everyone is invited.

DeSoto
Jackson Grove Baptist Church
The 10 anniversary of the pastor, Eugene Hall, is celebrated at 11 a.m. Sunday with Pastor Lorenzo Mullins of Antioch Baptist Church as guest speaker and at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Robert Morgan of McAfee Baptist Church as guest speaker. Fellowship dinner follows the afternoon service. All are welcome.

Leslie
New Shady Grove Baptist Church
Youth Day is observed at 11 a.m. Nov. 22. Guest speaker is Minister Trenton Floyd of Antioch Baptist Church. Everyone is invited.

Plains
Lebanon Baptist Church
The Senior Ushers’ Board Ministry celebrates the 93rd Ushers’ Anniversary at 11 a.m. Nov. 22. Sister Tracy Clemons of William Grove Baptist Church, Ellaville, will speak on the duties of an usher. The Rev. Hosie Waters delivers the sermons. Gleaner captains are Deacons J.C. Bryant Jr. and Charlie Wright, and Sister Patricia Williams. Everyone is welcome.

Smithville
New Hope A.M.E Church
A fifth Sunday Spiritual Cake Walk is at 5 p.m. Nov. 29 with multiple speakers and churches on the program. Sister Carolyn Kimbrough brings the occasion and Deacon Rodney Banks is the emcee.
