AMERICUS — Southland Academy students in grades 2-5 responded to the Make a Difference Day challenge held at their school.
Make a Difference Day is a nationally recognized campaign for people to give an extra effort to make a difference in the life of someone else.
This Oct. 24, millions of volunteers across the nation united with a common mission – to improve the lives of others.
In its 24th year, Make A Difference Day is a USA TODAY initiative, and in collaboration with Points of Light, it is the largest national day of community service.
The lower school students created and framed their artwork for the residents in local senior and nursing facilities.
The school community collected approximately 100 frames which enabled the students to share their love and compassion for others through art to the residents.
The artwork shared the students’ compassion for others through colorful pictures, beautiful designs, quotes, and encouraging and loving words.
