LAWRENCEVILLE — Mrs. Juanita B. Childers passed away on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Laurel Grove Retirement Community in Lawrenceville, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with the Rev. John Hadley officiating. Burial is to follow in Smithville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.
A native of Early County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Jessie William Baker and Pearlie Belle Jones Baker. Mrs. Childers worked as a registered nurse at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center and was a member of Smithville Baptist Church and later attended Anchor Church of Lawrenceville. A volunteer with the Sumter County Hospice chapter, she was also involved in the Women’s Missionary Union, the Baptist Training Union, and was a founder of the Sunshine Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Priscilla Smith of Lawrenceville and Sheryll Jamison of Lawrenceville; a sister, Jewel Methvin of Eufaula, Ala.; and three grandchildren: Lindsey Smith, Erin Smith, and Ashley Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard George Childers, and by a brother, Grady Baker.
