Great things continue to happen at the Americus-Sumter High School. The Americus-Sumter Youth Assembly (YA) team attended a legislative program at the Georgia state capitol. The team participated in a mock Senate and House of Representative conference while in Atlanta. This conference allowed the YA team to debate and propose hypothetical Georgia bills. Americus-Sumter High School returned home  Nov. 17 with a prestigious victory. Bailey Roberson, a junior at ASHS brought home the Best Debater Award in the Georgia Senate; (only one male and one female best debater award was presented). Roberson tirelessly debated and made a voice for herself, on the State of Georgia’s Senate floor.
