The National Weather Service has issued a hard freeze warning for Sumter County from midnight tonight, Jan. 18 until 9 a.m. Jan. 19.

Temperature lows will be in the lower to mid 20s for several hours. These temperatures will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Pet owners are reminded to make sure their pets have adequate protection and/or shelter from exposure.
