ALBANY — Mr. Warren Jackson Swinson, 77, of 812 Copperhill Circle, Americus, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, in Albany, Ga. A memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services. The Rev. David Dispain and Pastor Patrick Wooten officiated. The family received friends in the chapel following the memorial service.
Mr. Swinson was born Jan. 16, 1939, in Onslow County, N.C.,  to Kater and Bertha Catherine Small Swinson. Mr. Swinson was a retired self-employed electrician. Mr. Swinson was a veteran who served 24 years in the United States Army. He was a member of the Community Friendship Church in Montezuma, Ga.
Mr. Swinson is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Swinson of Americus, Ga.; three daughters, Tammie McIlwraith of Americus, Ga., Laurie Swinson Clements of Marietta, Ga., and Jodie Renee Wooten of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sons, Warren Jay Swinson of Americus, Ga., and Walter Jamie Swinson of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, Louis Swinson of Melbourne, Fla.; as well as 14 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a first wife, Laura Bell Riggs Swinson; a daughter, Brenda Joy Swinson; a sister, Hazel B. Davis; five brothers, Robert G. Swinson, Henry W. Swinson, Joseph L. Swinson, Milton R. Swinson and Elmer Elmo Swinson; and his parents, Kater and Bertha Catherine Swinson.
