Americus Fire & Emergency Services

• Firefighters responded to 34 calls or medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Knollwood Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a gas odor at Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St. They found the City gas department was already working at the substation. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on South Hampton Street. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a report of “trouble unknown” on Jackson Avenue. It was a police matter.
• Firefighters conducted a smoke detector detail on Melody Lane.
• Firefighters responded to Douglas Circle to report of a possible gas leak. They found a gas meter making a noise, but no leak.
• Firefighters responded to Tripp Street to a vehicle fire. They found that the owner had already extinguished the fire. Smoke was coming from behind the back seat where insulation was smoldering due to burned wires.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Lamar and North Lee streets.
• Firefighters responded to Mitchell and Anderson streets to a report of power lines arcing due to balloons tangled in the lines. Upon arrival, Georgia Power Co. was on scene and the balloons were on the ground.
• Firefighters responded to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to assist the Americus Police Department in gaining entry to a residence for a welfare check.
• Firefighters responded to Ridge Street to a report of a possible structure fire. They found no smoke showing but occupant said her stove was smoking. They found the element had broken and unplugged the stove and told occupant not to use it.

• Daniel A. Reyes-Sanchez, 17, of 410 W. Hill St., Americus is charged with misdemeanor theft by taking and felony first-degree forgery, and was jailed.
• Quincy K. Rouland, 18, of 710 Barlow St., Americus is charged with felony first-degree burglary, and was jailed.
• Marquevious K. Sapp, 21, of 122 Lexington Circle, Lot 24, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.

• Jordan N. Clemens, 23, of 210 Columbia Drive, Americus is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.

• Sanquesha J. Hicks, 25, of Albany is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.
• Damien D. Leonard, 24, of Lexington Apartments, 7-A, Americus is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.
• Blake J. Moreau, 41, of 453 Reid Road, Ellaville is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.

• William L. Andrews, 48, of 293 Memorial Mile, Americus was arrested on a bench warrant from Plains and is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and was jailed.
• Rodney A. Miller, 37, of 94 Ford Road, Buena Vista is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Geneva A. Raybon, 45, of 400 Wiggins St., Smithville is charged with fourth-degree forgery and theft by taking, and was jailed.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Roy Circle, caused by food burned in the stove.
• Firefighters responded to traffic accident on DeSoto Seed Farm Road.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Rawley Road and U.S. Highway 19 North.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Grove Drive, which was canceled.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on West Main Street. There was no fire.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Arch Helms Road.
• Firefighters responded to a car fire on Cobb Cheek Road.
• Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Ga. Highway 520 in Webster County, providing mutual aid.
•  Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Brown Road in Schley County, providing mutual aid.

• Jason D. Arnett, 35, of 418 Patterson St., Americus is charged with failure to maintain lane, open container, DUI and obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was released on bond.
• James R. Bullard, 59, of 1280-C Young’s Mill Road, Plains is charged with possession of marijuana, DUI, open container and failure to maintain lane, and was jailed.
• Marquis A. Butler, 28, of 139-A Cherokee St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Shernone R. Butts, 34, of 1302 N. Lee St., Americus is charged with failure to maintain insurance, driving while license is suspended or revoked and knowingly driving motor vehicle on suspended, canceled or revoked registration, and was released on bond.
• Mary W. Crisp, 76, of 147 Honeysuckle Hollow Road, Americus is charged with 15 counts of livestock running at large, and was released on bond.
• Pedro Garcia, 63, of 706 Sam Rogers Road, Americus is charged with driving while unlicensed and failure to maintain lane, and was released on bond.
• George Harrington, 48, of 247 Dawson Road, Trailer F, Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Walter J. Hawkins, 22, of 2213 U.S. Highway 280 East, Leslie is charged with DUI and too fast for conditions, and was released on bond.
• Corey E. Hinton, 29, of Columbus is charged with violation of child support order. His fine was paid and he was received.
• Erik B. James, 19, of 604 Pessell Creek Road, Plains is charged with criminal trespass and illegal dumping, and was jailed.
