Lady Panthers progress to round two of state playoffs

AMERICUS – the Americus-Sumter High School (ASHS) Lady Panthers basketball team kicked off the state playoffs on Feb. 16 in Americus, earning a spot in the second round of the AAAA tournament with a 51-44 victory over the visiting Spalding Lady Jaguars.
The win leaves the ASHS girls with a 27-1 record on the season to date.
The Lady Panthers will return to their home court to defend their impressive record on Feb. 19. The team’s opponent will be determined in a Feb. 17 match-up between the Marist Lady War Eagles and the Baldwin Lady Braves.
