AMERICUS — Mr. Jerry Edward Plunkett, 51, of 126 Santa Rosa Drive, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be heldat 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb.  26, 2016 in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services. The Rev. Allan Brock will officiate.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, in the  chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services, and at other times at 201 E. Hill St. The family requests that visitors come to the back door.
Mr. Plunkett was born on Nov. 10, 1964, in Fairfax, Va., the son of the late James Nolan Plunkett and Jo Ann Virginia Flanders Plunkett.He worked for many years as a John Deer mechanic at Ariail Implement in Americus, Ga., before becoming a self-employed mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Plunkett is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Plunkett, and their daughter, Haley Plunkett of Americus, Ga.; two brothers, James Earl Plunkett and Joseph Kevin Plunkett, both of Americus, Ga..; his mother Jo Ann Virginia Flanders Plunkett; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James Nolan Plunkett.
