AMERICUS — Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) was ranked second on the “50 Most Affordable Small Colleges for an HR Degree 2016” list assembled by humanresourcesmba.net released last week. Georgia Southwestern was the only Georgia college that made the list.
In researching universities for the rankings, humanresourcesmba.net used College Navigator, an information tool offered by the National Center for Education Statistics, and individual school websites. They considered small schools as having less than 3,000 undergraduate students and looked only at accredited institutions offering a bachelor’s degree in human resource management. Of the 192 institutions that fit these criteria, humanresourcesmba.net chose the top 50 with the lowest published tuition and fees in 2016.
“This news confirms our commitment to offer a quality education at an affordable price,” said Liz Wilson, Ph.D., School of Business Administration dean. “Our AACSB accreditation puts us in the top five percent of all business schools nationally in terms of quality, so our low cost makes us an incredible value to students. There is high demand for students who graduate with a degree in human resource management, and about 75 percent of our majors have jobs in the field before graduation.  We are thankful to the faculty and administrators who support all of our business programs and help us turn out job-ready graduates.”
The GSW School of Business offers a bachelor of business administration in accounting, human resource management, management and marketing.
Additionally, GSW’s master of business administration degree program is designed to prepare business leaders for the changing world marketplace by developing critical thinking, management and leadership skills.
