Sumter student receives Piedmont academic honors

DEMOREST — The following student from Sumter County has been awarded academic honors for the recently completed fall semester at Piedmont College. Caroline Lyman-Barner of  Americus was recognized as a Dean’s Scholar.
Students named Dean’s Scholars completed the semester with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, while students named to the Dean’s List earned a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99.
Piedmont College is an independent liberal arts college of more than 2,260 students, with campuses located in Demorest and Athens. Founded in 1897, the college offers undergraduate degrees in more than 50 major areas, master’s degrees in education and business, and doctoral degrees in education.
