ALBANY — Mrs. Jean Francis, 83, of Americus, Ga., died peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the Martha McDonald Moore Memorial Chapel at Magnolia Manor in Americus, Ga. The  Rev. Gary Page and the Rev. Joy Wilson will officiate. The residents of Magnolia Manor were asked to be honorary pallbearers. The family received friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.  in the Chapel. Interment services will be held graveside at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the Christian Church Cemetery in Fredericktown, Missouri.
Mrs. Francis was born on April 5, 1932, in Desloge, Missouri, to the late Willis Alva Denton and the late Mrs. Pearl Clay Denton. She worked for many years as the medical records manager and department head at a nursing home in Branson, Missouri. She was married for many years to the Rev. Robert Alvie Francis until his death in 1985, and was proud to call herself a preacher’s wife. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Francis was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church of Americus, Ga.
Mrs. Francis is survived by her daughter, Becky Page and her husband the Rev. Gary Page of Waycross, Ga.; a son, Robert A. Francis of Roger, Arkansas; two sisters, Juanita Skaggs of Fredericktown, Missouri, and Wanda Huett of Arnold, Missouri; five grandchildren, Adam, Amy, Miranda, Nathan and Ashley; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Dock, Ana, Emma and Grant.
Mrs. Francis was preceded in death by her beloved husband the Rev. Robert Alvie Francis, her parents Mr. Willis Alva Denton and Mrs. Peal Clay Denton; three sisters, Mary LaChance, Nina Robinson and Katie Boarman; and one brother LeRoy Denton.
