Americus Fire & Emergency Services

• Firefighters responded to Magnolia Court to a report of a living area being flooded. No hazards were found and the scene was left with occupants and maintenance personnel.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on New Street where they found that the occupant had burned food in the microwave. They ventilated the structure.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Rees Park and Lamar Street.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Magnolia Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 19 South.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Windsor Hotel, 125 W. Lamar St. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Lamar Street which turned about to be a false alarm.
• Firefighters responded to Shoe Show, 1403 E. Lamar St., to a recurring electrical problem. They found three tripped breakers and told the occupants to leave the power off and contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Lamar Street and Lonnie Lane.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Magnolia Court.
• Firefighters responded to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to the report of a possible structure fire. They found no smoke or fire on arrival but the occupant said a wall outlet was smoking. Thermal imaging found warmth around the outlet. They stood by until Georgia Power arrived to cut the power. Occupant was advised to contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on East Lamar Street involving a car and a motor scooter.
