Barthell seeks Superior Court Clerk

AMERICUS — Cortisa Barthell has announced her candidacy for Sumter Superior Court Clerk.
She issued the following.
“I was born in Sumter County and attended public school, West Side, in Plains, Georgia. We moved to New York when I was in the fifth grade; there is where I graduated from high school. I moved back to Americus in 1995, and furthered my education at Georgia Southwestern.
“I have been married to Mike Barthell for 20 years and we have three children: Kuane, Lauren and Mike Jr. and a grandson Jaydin. We are active members of United Holiness Church and assist in many different areas in an effort to spread the Word of Jesus Christ.
“Currently I am a Deputy Clerk with Sumter County Superior Court. In this position I work closely with all employees to effectively perform the duties of a clerk. I have been trained in civil, criminal, real estate and basic policy and procedures. This makes me an excellent candidate for Clerk of Superior Court.
“I have been employed with Sumter County since 2010, I have over 15 years of leadership and administrative experience. My passion for people has always allowed me to communicate and serve people from all walks of life.
“As Clerk of Superior Court, I will continue to demonstrate respect and fairness while serving the citizens of our community. I amcommitted to serve all citizens of Sumter County.”
