This weekend we celebrate one of the most holy days in Christendom: Easter, the day that Jesus Christ arose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
That God sent His only son to suffer and die on the cross so that each of us who believes can have everlasting life beyond this world is nothing short of a miracle, but Easter is time of miracles.
Eastertide is not only to celebrate Christ’s resurrection but to reaffirm our individual faith. As the trees and shrubs continue to burst with new life, we, too, have the opportunity to go forth with a clean slate and renewed faith.
While children will enjoy hunting brightly colored eggs and eating candy this weekend, we hope that each of us takes the time to give thanks for our salvation and to forgive others who seek to do us harm.
Easter is a time for renewal. Let’s all start it off with loving hearts toward all of God’s creatures. Let us seek justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our Lord.
