• Firefighters responded to 20 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Ashby Street.
• Firefighters responded to North Jackson Street to a report of a  sparking outlet. They found a burned outlet and disconnected power and advised resident to contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to a minor traffic accidents on East Lamar Street and on Prince Street.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Forrestside Circle which had been triggered by cooking.
• Firefighters responded to Elm Avenue to a report of someone hearing a neighbor’s alarm sounding. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Taylor Street to a report of a possible structure fire. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to East Church and Hinkle streets to a report of power lines down. They found a tree had fallen on the power lines and blocking the road. They kept traffic away from the area and contacted Georgia Power.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Swett Avenue where they found a a faulty sprinkler riser but no fire.
• Firefighters responded to East Jefferson Street to a report of a gas odor. They found a slight natural has odor and requested the gas department to respond.
• Firefighters responded to Sharon Circle to a report of a gasoline smell from a vehicle. They noticed the smell but could not find the source.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Windsor Hotel, 125 W. Lamar St. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Allen Street to a report of a structure fire. Occupants advised that they were moving furniture and hit the gas line to a space heater. The gas department arrived and stopped the leak and fire personnel ventilated the structure.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Bell Street where they found a vehicle on its side against a broken power pole and power lines down.

• Devin C. Bishop, 18, of Columbus is charged with underage consumption/possession of alcohol.
• Shakeem O. Butler, 19, of 1701 Maxwell St., Americus is charged with entering motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony and two counts of obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.
• Cody L. Clack, 19, of Pitts is charged with underage consumption/possession of alcohol.
• Mines J. Cross of 807 Hawkins St., Americus is charged with failure to stop at stop sign.
• Leroy Daniels, 29, of 118 Hanson Drive, Americus is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked (second offense) and violation of headlight requirements.
• Cassandra Hicks, 36, of 605-G Eastview Circle, Americus was arrested on a warrant for violation of child support order, and was jailed.
