AMERICUS — Mr. Harold S. Nix, 68, of 909 Post Way, Americus, Ga., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services. David Harper will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services prior to the funeral.
Mr. Nix was born on Aug. 9, 194,7 in Blakely, Ga., to the late Mr. Leo Frank Nix and the late Mrs. Edna Elizabeth Toole Nix. He worked as a self-employed paint contractor. He was a Jehovah’s Witness and was an elder in the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Mr. Nix is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Louise Mann Nix; three daughters, Amanda Nix of Brasselton, Ga., Emily Nix of Americus, Ga., and Erica Gonzalez (Lupe) of Hampton, Ga.; a son, Christopher Nix (Tamara) of Long Island, N.Y.; a sister,  Shirley Palmer of Acworth, Ga.; two brothers, David Nix (Andrea) of Ponce de Leon, Fla., and Joel Nix (Riena) of Albany, Ga.; two grandchildren, Gavyn and Lyla Gonzalez; and also a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Hogg.
