AMERICUS — Miss Carlene Pollock, 80, a former resident of Leslie, Ga., died peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Perfect Care in Americus, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, from the graveside at Leslie City  Cemetery in Leslie, Ga. The Rev. Jim English will officiate. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2016, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services.
Miss Carlene was born on June 22, 1935, in Leslie, Ga., daughter of the late John Carl Pollock and the late Lizzie Kate Perry Pollock. She graduated from Union High School in Leslie, Ga. She was a member of the Leslie Baptist Church and the Leslie Hobby Club. Miss Carlene will be remembered as a gentle, loving woman who loved animals, enjoyed painting and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Miss Carlene is survived by an aunt and an uncle and many first cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Carl Pollock; and her grandparents, Mr. William Oscar Perry and Mrs. Bertha Liggin Perry, and Mr. John M. Pollock and Mrs. Bessie Harpe Pollock.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leslie Baptist Church, 106 S. Bailey Ave., Leslie GA 31764 and also to the Sumter County Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus GA 31719.
