Mr. and Mrs. Dilbon Rene Smith and Mark Raymond Westra of Americus announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Grace Westra of Savannah, to Richard Kevin Jackson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kevin Jackson Sr. of Savannah.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sherrill Murray House and the late Robert Fowler House Jr. of Americus and Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson Westra of Fort Valley. She is a 2012 honor graduate of Americus-Sumter County High School. She graduated cum laude from Valdosta State University in 2015, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She is a member of Phi Mu sorority and a member of Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society. She is currently employed as the program coordinator for the mayor’s workforce development initiative, Summer 500 Internship Program, in Savannah.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Albert Saye Sr. of Athens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Jackson of Cartersville. He is a 2009 graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School. He graduated from Valdosta State University (VSU) in 2013, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and was an offensive lineman for the VSU Blazer football program. He is currently employed as a field sales engineer by EnviroVac in Savannah.
The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. on June 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia.
