ALBANY — Mr. Isaac “Ike” Thomas Masters Jr., age 61, of 526 Sharon Drive, Americus, Ga., died Monday, May 9, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Cheek Memorial Baptist Church in Americus, Ga. The Rev. Rick Smith and Janice DeBice will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Aldridge Funeral Services, and other times, the residence of Mrs. Saralyn Berry, 1699 Ga. Highway 30 West, Americus.
Mr. Masters was born May 19, 1954, in Columbus, Ga., son of the late Isaac Thomas Masters Sr. and Sara Alice Duvall Masters, who survives. He was a retired truck driver, having driven for many companies throughout his career and retired from Ray Trucking Co. He was a member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church and served in Cheeks Men’s Brotherhood.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Sara Alice Duvall Masters; his wife, Sheila Jackson Masters of Americus; one daughter, Alicia Griffith and husband Tracey of Collierville, Tenn.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cricket Haswell of Victoria, Texas, Saralyn Berry and husband Bobby of Americus, and Peggy Vasbinder and husband John of Americus; one brother, Tommy Masters of Andersonville, Ga., and a daughter-in-law Ann Masters of Ellaville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Masters, Chandler Blake Masters, Bryce Marshall Griffith, Jayce Thomas Griffith, and Breck Chadden Griffith; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Masters was preceded in death by his son, Chad Thomas Masters, in 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to Cheek Memorial Baptist Church, 1705 Crawford St., Americus GA 31709.
