PERRY — Jeri Darlene Smith Edgar, age 43, of 100 Lonesome Doe Circle, Kathleen, Ga., died Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry. A native of Thomasville, she was born July 1, 1972, the daughter of Gerald and Cheryl Smith, who survive her. Jeri was a 1990 graduate of Southland Academy where she was an avid softball and basketball player. She was a member of Zeta sorority and graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1994, with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management. Jeri was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Houston County.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016, at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Myers, the Rev. Hugh DeLoach and the Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Preston. Pallbearers include Jon Carson, Roy Guerrero, Chase Smith, Trey Dozier, Caleb Stephens and Tracy Law. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors in addition to her parents include a daughter, Sydney Ruth Edgar, age 17, of Kathleen; a son, William James Edgar, age 13, of Kathleen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marty and Velda Smith of Ellaville and Gregg and Kelly Smith of Macon; 10 nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and -nephews and a forever friend, Mike Edgar.
