AMERICUS — The Miss SAR Pageant was recently held at Southland Academy, with seven young women participating. This contest is a scholarship pageant with all proceeds going toward the Thomas Greene and Madeline Wildes tuition scholarship funds.
This year’s contestants were as follows: senior, Cynthia Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sims Jones of Americus; senior Olivia Payne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Payne of Weston; senior,  Jordan Sanders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Norton and Phil Sanders, all of Americus; and senior, Kelley Stapleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Stapleton of Richland; junior, Addie Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Cook of Americus; junior, Sydney Copeland, daughter of Melanie Copeland and Clay Copeland, all of Americus; and junior, Lauren Barthell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Barthell of Americus.
The pageant winners were as follows:
People’s Choice – Lauren Barthell; Miss Congeniality – Olivia Payne; Talent Award – Jordan Sanders; Bett Womack Interview Award – Jordan Sanders; 2nd Runner Up – Addie Cook; 1st Runner Up – Olivia Payne; and Miss SAR – Jordan Sanders.
