AMERICUS — Ms. Joan H. Snider, age 76, of 1223 Lafayette Street, Americus, Ga., passed away June 22, 2016, at her place of residence. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on today, June 24, 2016, in the chapel of County Line United Methodist Church, 159 County Line Road, Ellaville, Ga. The Rev. Mark Kinservik will officiate. Interment will follow at County Line United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 3 p.m. today, June 24, 2016 at the church, an hour prior to the service.
The following are asked to serve as active pallbearers: Bruce Toms, Dylon Toms, Donald Toms, Matthew Carswell, Jacob Carswell, and Robert Cromer.
Ms. Snider was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Greenville, Georgia. She was a homemaker.
Ms. Snider was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Everett Maynard Hamby and Mrs. Popie Rebecca Hayes Hamby. She was also preceded in death by her spouse, Mr. Taylor Snider. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Toms and her husband Donald Toms of Americus and Sharon Carswell and her husband Richard Carswell of Lakeland, Ga. Other survivors include one sister, Margie Gore, two stepchildren, Marsha Snider of Columbus, Ga., and William Snider and his wife Tina of Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Chad Thrasher, Bruce Toms, Donna Daniels, Dylan Toms, Matthew Carswell, and Jacob Carswell and six great-grand children: Devin Daniels, Darin Daniels, Dayla Daniels, Allie Toms, Toby Carswell, and July Carswell.
