ALBANY — Melvin E. Adams, 87, of Albany, Ga., died July 10, 2016, at Willson Hospice House. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Ross Powell will officiate.

A native of Mitchell County, Ga., Mr. Adams moved to Albany, Ga., in 1956, and was employed with Cross Equipment Co. for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Maxwell Adams.

Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Houston and her husband, Mike of Cobb, Ga., and Gina Freeman of Albany, Ga.; three sisters, Dorothy Reames, Sarah Connell and her husband, Randy all of Bainbridge, Ga., and Genie Cumbie and her husband, Roger of Cairo, Ga.; two brothers, Herschel Adams and his wife, Gail of Griffin, Ga., and Robert “Son” Adams and his wife, Joan of Tallahassee, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Jami Houston of Jacksonville, Fla., Michele Houston of Athens, Ga., and Taylor Freeman of Albany, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
