AMERICUS  — The Americus Police Department presents the Citizen’s Police Academy from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Aug. 23-Nov. 8. This 12-week course is intended to give citizens an overview of basic police operations and provide a forum for discussion of current events and issues. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and must be willing to commit to attend the full schedule of training.
