Kyle Champion graduates from Samford University
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Kyle Le’george Champion of Americus graduated from Samford University during recent commencement exercises. Champion earned a bachelor of science from Howard College of Arts and Sciences.

Moses named to President’s List for Spring 2016
ATLANTA — Ke’Amber Moses of Americus was named to the President’s List for Spring 2016 at Georgia State University. To be eligible for the President’s List, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 4.00 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

GSW’s Sigma Alpha Pi inducts new members
AMERICUS — The following students were recently inducted into Georgia Southwestern State’s chapter of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi) and were among 65 new members inducted during the society’s spring member induction ceremony. The society also recognized several faculty and student members with awards.
The new members are Brooke Benton of Americus, Dashumon Robinson, Debra Stanfield of Americus, Elijah Broomfield of Americus, Erica Faircloth of Americus, Erin Parker of Americus, Gabrielle Griffin of Americus, Gloria Brown of Ellaville, Kathryn (Kiri) Parker of Americus, Mariam Perez of Americus, Marilu Pesina Lara of Americus, William Goodin of Smithville, Teira Wallace of Americus.
Faculty members who were honored were Honorary Membership: Carol Bishop, DBA; Amber DeBaise, Ph.D., and Elizabeth Wilson, Ph.D.; Excellence in Teaching: Kay Pace, Teresa Teasley, DNP,  and Joseph Warther; Excellence in Service: Dreena Hoffman, Kershawnda Johnson and Linda Randall.
Students who were honored with the National Engaged Leader Award (NELA) were: Kemyatta Everett – president; Charity Williamson – SNT coordinator; Taryn Burns, Alexis McGarvey, Kelsey Roberts, Debra Stanfield and Jade Turner.

Thomas Gaines named to Dean’s List at Georgia Tech
ATLANTA — Thomas Gaines of Montezuma made the Dean’s List for the Spring 2016 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

GSU announces 2016 Spring President’s List
STATESBORO —  Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,340 students for excellence in academics on the 2016 Spring Semester President’s List. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
Students on the President’s List include Julie Bryce of Americus, Rachel Doggett of Americus, Dillon Hernandez of Americus, Lena Hudson of Leslie, Katherine Kennon of Americus, Katelyn Law of Americus, Trang Nguyen of Montezuma, William Souter of Montezuma, Kristen Wright of Americus.
