LESLIE — Mrs. Helen Jean Abrams, age 73, of 2116 Brady Road, Leslie, Ga., died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. The Rev Andy Taunton and the Rev. William Hall will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Aldridge Funeral Services.

The following are asked to serve as active pallbearers: Benny Whittle, Greg Bell, Bill Hammond, Hollis Hale, Hal Head, and Jimmy Wyatt.

Mrs. Abrams was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Fort Valley, Ga., daughter of the late Leonard Brantley Knight and Effie McCant Knight. She worked for Manhattan Shirt Co., formerly in Americus, for 17 years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Abrams was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Wallace, of Indiana; one son, Shane Abrams and his wife Michelle of Florida; two sisters, Sandra Ray of Fort Valley, Ga., and Betty Harbuck of Marshallville, Ga,; two brothers, Richard Knight and his wife Barbara of Conyers, Ga., and Ronnie Knight and his wife Janet of Perry, Ga.; three grandchildren, Pierce Abrams, Mathew Kelly and Joshua Kelly, and a brother-in-law, Jack Fowler also survive.

Mrs. Abrams was preceded in death by two sisters, Claudia Fowler and Geraldine Skipper.
