• Firefighters responded to McGarrah Street to a report of a line down. They removed a cable line from the roadway.
• Firefighters responded shortly after 2 p.m. to a smoke alarm on South Hampton Street caused by cooking. They responded to the same location shortly after 4:35 p.m. to a smoke alarm, caused by someone leaving a pot on the stove.
• Firefighters responded to South Lee Street to an alarm; no hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., to an alarm; no hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Country Club Drive to a report of a structure fire. They found smoke coming from a second-floor window. Upon entering, they found fire cooking from the stove and cabinets. They extinguished the fire and ventilated the structure. The occupant told them he had been cooking with grease and had left the room for a second.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Valley Drive. It was a defective alarm.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on South Hampton Street where the occupant was having problems with the alarm system.
• Firefighters responded to a leaking water heater on Russell Street.
• Firefighters responded to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to a report of a power line sparking.
• Firefighters responded to Rawley Road to a report of a power line down. They found a cable line.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Post Way; there were no hazards found.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on East Forsyth Street where a vehicle had struck a column outside a store.
• Firefighters responded to South Lee Street to a report of a power line down. They found a small tree limb on a line.
• Firefighters responded to Laurel Circle where the occupant told them she had a fire extinguisher go off inside.
