Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clark Buford of Cordele announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Leigh Buford of Cordele, to James Steven Wells of Cordele, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Mickey Wells of Cordele.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Stephen Perry Sr. and the late Mr. Perry of Americus, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Clark Buford of Cordele.
She is a 2009 graduate of Crisp Academy, Cordele, where she was co-valedictorian, and graduated summa cum laude in 2013, from the University of Georgia, Athens with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture, majoring in agribusiness and minoring in animal science. She was named to the Top 5% of UGA Graduates and UGA Outstanding Agribusiness Senior. She is employed with Clark Buford Bait Co., Inc. in Cordele
The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Edsel Marvin Wade Sr. and the late Mr. Wade of Arabi, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Clyde Wells of Pineview.
He is a 2009 graduate of Crisp Academy, Cordele and a 2014 graduate of the University of Georgia, Athens with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology with a minor in history. He is employed as a Woodman Life representative in Hawkinsville.
The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. Oct. 22, 2016, at Twin Oaks Farm Weddings in Pineview with a reception to follow.
