Historic society barbecue, auction coming up
The Ellaville/Schley County Historical Society is planning its annual Auction for Saturday, Sept. 17 at the American Legion on Ga .Highway 153 in Ellaville. A barbecue supper will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m.
You do not have to be a member to attend or make a tax-deductible donation.
We also like to recognize all donors and when your items come up for bids.
All proceeds go to help preserve local history. This is our biggest money making project that we have each year.
We will be raffling off another quilt made by Lettie Royal, a master quilt maker and member of our historical society.
We also have a real nice item, a .22 Ruger rifle, that I received today, that will be auctioned off. This is a good time to buy it for the upcoming hunting season or for a Christmas present.
