ELLAVILLE — Phoebe Sumter Medical Center recently closed on the purchase of land at 339 Broad St. in Ellaville. Located between Ameris Bank and Dollar General, the site is the future home of the existing Phoebe Sumter Ellaville Primary Medicine Clinic.
“We are proud of the small-community feel that makes Phoebe Sumter unique, and our connection to Ellaville is definitely an extension of that. We had the pleasure of working with Tommy Barnes, the property’s former owner and Deborah Poole of Town & Country Realty to acquire the property. Our investment in this new clinic facility will create a space that visually represents our commitment to the high quality of care,” said Brandi Lunneborg, CEO of Phoebe Sumter.
The clinic design will have additional square footage to include community space for Phoebe Sumter to bring classes and health events, like the diet and education workshops already offered, right into the clinic space. Access to primary care providers is a major focus for Phoebe, and the new clinic facility promises additional practice space for Jenny Hatcher, NP, and Julie Oliver, PA.
“We have been an integral part of this community for more than 10 years, and during that decade, our patients have become like family. We want everyone to know we are here to help them with their medical needs and concerns,” said Oliver, physician assistant at the Ellaville clinic. “We are excited to continue our long and rewarding relationship with our Ellaville neighbors as we move forward with this expansion.”
Phoebe Sumter’s Ellaville Primary Medicine Clinic is also a provider for the Georgia Farmworker Health Program which provides healthcare services in the clinic as well as in the field for rural farmworkers in five surrounding counties. Since its start, the program has provided care to more than 1,100 patients.
