David Osborne to play for Jimmy Carter’s birthday

AMERICUS — Steinway Signature Artist and internationally known concert artist David Osborne will be touring the southern United States at the end of September and first of October Concerts in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sept. 29; Americus, Georgia, Oct. 1, and Hartsville, South Caroline, Oct. 3 are planned.

On Oct. 1, First Baptist Church of Americus will be the location for a very special star studded event. Oct. 1, 2016 will mark the 92nd birthday of former President Jimmy Carter. Osborne has performed for Carter for 30 years. Osborne will be presenting a Steinway and Sons concert including the David Osborne Trio. The concert is to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Osborne, who tours internationally and performs regularly on Steinway pianos, has invited Miss America 2016 to perform with him at the event. Betty Cantrell, Miss America is a native Georgian and a magnificent vocalist. She will perform three selections of her choice and will perform with the trio. Osborne is featured in Bellagio, Las Vegas nightly, performing the American songbook.

The public is invited to attend the concert under the auspices of Pastor Keith Parks, First Baptist Church. Osborne will autograph his newest recordings and do a meet and greet following the concert.
