AMERICUS — Shelby Delores Whitlow Griner, 74, of Americus, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at her home. She was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Lynchburg, Va., to the late Archie Hendricks and Dorothy Whitlow Paul.

Services will be private.

Mrs. Griner is survived by two daughters: Vickey (Ken) Phillips of Byron and Mary Rogers; two brothers: John (Yolanda) Paul and Frank Paul, all of San Diego, Calif.; and four sisters: Barbara (Larry) Reynolds of Lynchburg, Va., Betty Hamilton, Lyndi Bilyue, and Merri (Jay) Gresch, all of Richmond, Va. Also surviving are two grandsons: Paul (Rachel) Griner and Jeremy Griner; and five great-grandchildren: Christian Stevens, Cerila Griner, Nichlos Griner, Taylor Griner, and McKenzie Thomas.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griner was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Griner; a son, John Watts; and two grandchildren: Stephanie Foxworth and Kenny Phillips, Jr.
