The 29th annual Taste of Sumter, held Thursday on Jackson Street, downtown, was a huge success, drawing over 1,000 people. Patrick Kay, director, Americus Main Street & Downtown Development Authority, said the event drew more locally owned and independent restaurants than ever, and more restaurants in over a decade.
