MACON — Mr. A.D. Martin, age 82, of 206 Frieda Lane, Americus, Ga., passed away surrounded by family on Sept. 29, 2016, at Medical Center of Navicent Health in Macon, Ga. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1_, 2016, in the chapel of Shiloh Baptist Church, 961 Shiloh Road, Americus, Ga. The Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services.

The following will serve as active pallbearers: David Jordan, Bill Bodrey, Mike Berry, Will Brown, Josh Jordan, Luke Martin, and Kevin Martin. All active and retired Georgia State Patrol Troopers are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.

A.D. Martin was born Dec. 12, 1933, in Camilla, Ga. A.D. was retired from the Georgia State Patrol where he served as an Assistant Troop Commander Lieutenant. He was a member of the Police Officers’ Association of Georgia. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father John Dwight Martin and his mother Velva Cleo Wooten Martin. He was also preceded in death by his wife Earline Christie Martin; one brother, Walter Neil Martin; one sister, Sara Ann Piper; and one son, John Christie Martin. Survivors include his two daughters: Lynn Jordan (David) of Americus, Ga., and Kaye Bodrey (Bill) of Unadilla, Ga.; one son: Kevin Martin (Paula) of Ellaville, Ga.; seven grandchildren: Joshua Paul Jordan, Whitney Erin Brown, Kevin Luke Martin, Laci Paige Martin, Emily Kaye Keatley, Mallory Brooke Keatley, and William Cody Bodrey; four great-grandchildren: Rylan Jean Martin, Reese Everett Jordan, Grayson Charles Brown and Kealeigh Grace Starcher. Other survivors include one niece and one nephew.
