AMERICUS — Local Food Lion associates helped load shelves and coolers with donated products as part of the company’s “The Great Pantry Makeover” event. Second Harvest of South Georgia nominated Harvest of Hope Food Pantry in Americus for The Great Pantry Makeover.
In celebration of Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month, Food Lion is joining this powerful movement by remodeling and stocking the shelves at more than 30 local food pantries across its 10-state footprint during its second annual “The Great Pantry Makeover.” Hunger Action Month is a nationwide campaign mobilizing communities to take action on eliminating hunger.

About Harvest of Hope Food Pantry
Harvest of Hope Food Pantry opened its doors in June of 2013 after more than 15 local churches prayerfully worked together to form an organization to provide a food ministry for the Sumter County/ Americus, Georgia, community. Harvest of Hope is a Non-Profit Corporation under the laws of the state of Georgia and is also Non-Profit organized under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. There are no paid staff persons. Harvest of Hope is operated entirely by volunteers. Harvest of Hope is governed by a Board of Directors representing a cross-section of the community and churches.
