• Firefighters responded to 41 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Southerfield Road.
• Firefighters responded to Habitat Street where they extinguished a house fire.
• Firefighters responded to Columbia Avenue where a transformer had blown.
• Firefighters stood by for a football game at Southland Academy, 123 Southland Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a boat fire on Carver Street. They found a small plastic tray on top of a boat burning, which they extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Windsor Hotel, 125 W. Lamar St. a staff member told them it was faulty smoke detector.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a gas odor on Hosanna Circle. The occupant told them there a gas odor underneath her house. No hazards were found and they told the occupant that something was dead underneath the house.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Learning Lane. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to East Glessner and South Lee streets to a report of a school bus v. pedestrian accident. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters went to Sumter County Schools to read books to the Pre-K students.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on South Hampton Street
• Firefighters responded to a report of someone burning leaves in Bessie Mays Circle. The pile was extinguished and the people were advised of the City’s no-burn policy.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Tom Hall Circle which was activated by someone cooking bacon.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at North Wheeler and Jackson streets.
• Firefighters responded to Magnolia Court to a report of a structure fire. They found a cooking fire.
• Firefighters responded to Patterson Street to a report of a gas odor. They found a gas leak inside the structure and turned the gas off.
• Firefighters responded to Crawley Street where they found box spring burning on the roadside. The fire had been extinguished by the owner.
• Firefighters responded to Magnolia Court to a report of a structure fire. They found a cooking fire.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Beale Street. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to South Hampton Street to report of someone burning leaves in the area. Nothing was found.
• Firefighters stood by a football game at Southland Academy.
• Firefighters responded to Pineview Drive to a report of a smoke smell inside a residence. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Magnolia Street.

• Angela D. Jackson, 57, of Augusta is charged with open container, failure to maintain lane, and DUI, and was released on bond.
• Dax Spriggs, 28, of Remerton is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.

• Oscar Cook, 37, of 1007 Ginger Drive, Americus is charged with failure to maintain insurance and knowingly driving motor vehicle on suspended, canceled, or revoked registration and was released on to another agency.

• Firefighters responded to five calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 280 East.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Ga. Highways 49 South and 308.
• Firefighters responded to a woods fire on Sam Hill Dogleg Road where a controlled burn got out of control. Fire personnel and Georgia Forestry extinguished it.
• Firefighters responded to Labrador Trail where they helped a home owner extinguish a grass fire.
• Firefighters responded to Quail Drive to a report of a smoke odor. The found a small burn fire and extinguished it.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Spring Creek Circle. It was a false alarm.
• Firefighters participated in an active shooter drill at South Georgia Technical College.
• Firefighters responded to Neon Bass and Bone roads to an injured farm worker.
