The Jimmy Carter Education Program sponsors a postcard contest every year. This year the theme was ‘Plains Grows a President.’ Students learn facts about Jimmy Carter and then draw their version of the theme. Winning entries are invited to the Plains Festival to receive their award and have their photo taken with President Jimmy Carter. Hays Hagerson, a first-grader at Southland Academy, won second place in his age division. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hagerson.
