Calvary Episcopal Church hosts first ‘Americus Chalk Walk’As part of the annual art show hosted by Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus, a ‘chalk walk’ was also held in the parking lot. Over 50 local students signed up to volunteer and chalk a total of 16 squares. The ‘chalkers’ included five teams from Furlow Charter School, five teams from Georgia Southwestern State University, and individual chalkers from Americus Sumter High School, Schley County High School, and Southland Academy. The students portrayed the theme, ‘Flower Power’ in many creative ways. The ‘People’s Choice Award’ went to the GSW team of Emily Brady, Emily Burke and Tiandra Standford, who depicted the Rose Window at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. Everyone enjoyed pizza to finalize the event!
