AMERICUS — Phyllis Carlton Johansen, 91, of Americus, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Pasadena, California, to the late Wayne L. Carlton and Gertrud Triskit Carlton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus and a member of the Kappa Delta sorority.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 28, 2016, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, in the chapel of First United Methodist Church of Americus.

Survivors include her son, Brent and Carol Johansen of Cordele; two daughters: Trudy and Jim Griffin of Americus,  and Laurie and Chan Gailey of Clarksville; and a brother, Jim Carlton of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Jayson and Shana Griffin, Jance and Dannie Griffin, Sara and Caz Earnest, Becky and Eric Oxford, Tricia and Steve Greer, Tate and Amy Gailey, and Andrew and Stacey Gailey; and 18 great-grandchildren.
