AMERICUS — Phoebe Sumter Medical Center held another successful Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The 13th annual event was well attended. Starting at Lenny’s Market, downtown, and continued with three routes for walkers.
As always, the goal for the walk was to raise awareness for breast cancer and hopefully prompt people into action in regard to self-breast examinations, mammograms or just supporting a friend or loved one who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
T-shirts are still available for purchase, at the front desk of the hospital or call (229) 931-6812 for more information.
Phoebe Sumter thanks everyone who helped make this event a success, with special thanks to the Americus Police Department, Sumter County Sherriff’s Office, Sumter Middle School cheerleaders, Southland JV cheerleaders and all of the breast cancer survivors and their families.
