Arrests
• A juvenile was charged with terroristic threats, criminal trespass, and unruliness on Fairfield Avenue.
• A juvenile was charged with expired tag at Tripp and Parker streets.
• Peggy A. Lapinski. 53, of 803 Douglas Circle, Americus is charged with misdemeanor theft by taking.
• James Mahomes, 68, of 911 Elm Ave., Americus is charged with assault-battery.
• Qutavious Merritt 17, of 121 Andrews Drive, Americus is charged with assault-battery and disorderly conduct.
• Eduin J. Portillo-Tabora, 27, of 916 Parker St., Americus is charged with violation of headlight requirements, DUI, and driving while unlicensed, and was released to the APD.
• Antonio B. Reddick, 38, of Warner Robins is charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting and obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.
• Jennifer Reed, 32, of 714 Sunset Drive, Americus is charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.
• Deborah L. Shelton, 53, of 621 Park Row, Americus is charged with assault-battery, and reckless and dangerous use of dangerous weapons, and was jailed.
• Tomeka N. Walker,of 103 Knollwood Drive, Americus is charged with failure to yield right of way while turning left.
• Jarvis Ward, 24, homeless, is charged with criminal trespass.
• Herschel E. Wisham, 63, of 225 Shaaban Road, Plains is charged with fleeing/attempting to elude police, no proof of insurance, simple battery, two counts of obstruction of law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm or knife during commission or attempt to commit certain felonies, and expired tag/registration, and was jailed.

• Firefighters responded to 12 calls for medical assistance
• Firefighters responded to a grass fire at Sixth and Second streets.
• Firefighters responded to a large, unattended trash fire on Luke Street.
• Firefighters responded to East Rockhill Drive to a report of an odor in the area.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on U.S. Highway 19 South. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded three hours later to a report of smoke inside a structure at the same address as the previous report. They traced the odor to burned wire in a panel box.
• Firefighters responded to a cotton picker fire at Gin Poole House and Jury Clark roads.
• Firefighters responded to a grass and vehicle fire on Steel Bridge Road.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Ga. Highway 195 South and Allison Road.
• Firefighters responded to an illegal trash burn on Arlington Drive Extension.

• Firefighters responded to a trash fire on McMath Mill Road.
• Firefighters responded to two small grass fires on the side of U.S. Highway 280 West.
• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. Highway 19 South.
• Firefighters responded to U.S. Highway 280 East where they found a man burning a bed mattress.
• Firefighters responded to U.S. Highway 290 East to a tree fire.
• Firefighters responded to a grass fire on U.S. Highway 280 East near Leslie.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 19 South.
• Firefighters responded to a report of “large smoke” on Brandy Road, where they found trash and two boats on fire.
• Firefighters responded to Crisp Drive to a report of a woods fire. They found a controlled burn.

• Robert D. Smith, 27, of 173 Lakeview Circle, Cobb is charged with DUI, open container, and violation of tail light requirement, and was released on bond.
• Megan A. Wise, 18, of Albany is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession and use of drug related objects, and was released on bond.
• Harry P. Wright, 65, of Americus is charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts, and was jailed.
• Kenneth E. Wright, 51, of 506 Styles Robinson Road, DeSoto is charged with crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, intoxicants, drugs without consent, and violation of Drug Court terms, and was jailed.
• Christian J. Zipperer, 20, of 155 South Georgia Tech Parkway, Americus is charged with DUI and driving while license is suspended or revoked and was released on bond.
