Sumter County Schools well represented at retreat

SAVANNAH — Sumter County Schools was well represented at the recent Georgia School Nutrition Association’s Manager’s Conference held Nov. 3 and 4 in Savannah-Chatham County Coastal Georgia Center. From Sumter County Intermediate Schools, Cafeteria Manager Diane Monts and from Furlow Charter Schools, Cafeteria Manager Larry Jackson attended. During the two days of fellowship and networking with cafeteria managers from Georgia, participants attended classes to learn to be more professional and work together as a team.
Some of the highlights of the training included:  Growing in Your Purpose, Marketing Your Program, Proper Equipment Usage, Working Together as a Team, Connecting with Industry, Food Allergy Fundamentals and Revitalizing Your Purpose. Professional standards that were met at the training were the following: nutrition, operations, administration and communications/marketing.
